About

A young woman with wavy brown hair wearing glasses, a black blazer, a blue shirt, a black beret, and jewelry, sitting on the floor in front of abstract art with dark splatters on a white background.

karolina ferkl is a contemporary artist originally from the czech republic where she actively exhibits her work. while earning her degree in psychology she found herself increasingly drawn to visual composition and spatial arrangement. the definitive shift toward a dedicated studio practice emerged during a period of personal crisis. needing a tangible output she realized she had a distinct message to convey and finally took the leap to embrace art fully.

her artistic practice investigates the courage required to dismantle personal defense mechanisms in search of profound human closeness. by stitching raw canvas together with secondhand textiles and guiding how ink seeps into them with water she visualizes the vulnerable structures that hold us together. these imperfect fabrics expand into interconnected physical networks creating dynamic spaces designed for open dialogue and authentic connection.

her pieces are now held in private collections and she is continually expanding her presence internationally. she is currently based in barcelona spain developing her work as an artist in residence at casa r.a.r.o.
